There are a lot of good scorers in the NBA. I know this isn’t anything earth-shattering but check this stat out. The 2020-21 NBA season had 30 players average at least 20 points per game. Five years ago in the 2015-16 NBA season, exactly 20 players averaged at least 20 points per game.

That is really interesting that in five years’ time three are 10 more players averaging 20 points per game. When it comes to players averaging 28 points per game or more, there were five players that did that in 2020-21 and three players in 2015-16.

If you include players that didn’t qualify for basketball reference’s scoring leaders due to the lower number of games played, the number of the scorers over 20 points per game skyrockets to 43 players; five years ago: it was only 22.

Like I said at the start, there are a lot of good scorers in the NBA. Also, funny note, Stephen Curry led the NBA in scoring this past season and in the 2015-16 season.
